Manchester United legend, Gary Neville has downplayed Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League title this season after their 3-1 win over Liverpool on Sunday.
Arsenal defeated Liverpool at Emirates Stadium, thanks to goals from Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Magalhaes and Leandro Trossard.
After the win, the Gunners players, including their captain Martin Odegaard celebrated wildly in front of the club’s supporters.
Speaking on Sky Sports afterwards, Neville said: “The celebrations at the end I don’t think were of a team that thought they were going to go on and win the title.”
“I think they were a team that didn’t want to be out of a title race, and that was the relief that we saw at the end.”
“I think Arsenal, when I watch them, are a better team than Liverpool but I think Liverpool are a more ruthless team, they are more ruthless in the final third.”
The win against Jurgen Klopp’s side moved Arsenal to second position on the Premier League table with two points behind leaders Liverpool after 23 games.
