Fubara appoints ex-Speaker Edison Ehie as Chief of Staff

Governor Sim Fubara of Rivers State has appointed the immediate-past Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Edison Ehie, as his new Chief of Staff.

He replaces Chidi Amadi as Chief of Staff.

Ehie, who is an ally of Fubara, had resigned as the Speaker of the state Assembly, a few days ago.

Recall that the resolution signed by parties during the peace meeting held at the instance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu included the recognition of Rt. Hon. Martins Amaewhule as Speaker of the House.

However, there was no clause mandating Ehie to vacate his seat as a member of the House.

This is the aftermath of the crisis between the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike and Fubara.

The duo have been at loggerheads over the control of the state resources and political structure.
