Four injured as gunmen waylay travellers in Osun

The Western Nigeria Security Network Agency, Amotekun Osun has reported that four passengers had sustained injuries as the vehicle they were travelling in was attacked by gun-wielding men.

According to sources, the incident occurred along the Old Ila-Orangun/Ijabe road, when the vehicle was ambushed by gunmen who shot sporadically into the air.

According to the source, as the attack was being perpetrated, a passerby informed men of Osun Amotekun, which prompted them to swing into action.

”They attacked and injured four of the passengers in the early hours of Sunday but the men of Amotekun arrived at the scene after they got information about the attack.

“They engaged the gunmen and one of them was arrested but four of the passengers had already sustained injuries,” he said.

Confirming the attack, Amitolu Shittu, the Osun Amotekun Field Commander stated that one of the gunmen had been apprehended.

He also added that the four passengers who were injured during the attack were currently receiving medical treatment.
