Floods kill 42 in Bangladesh

A total of 42 people died in floods in Bangladesh from May 17 to June 22 in Sylhet, Mymensingh and Rangpur divisions.

A statement from the Health Department’s Health Emergency Operations Center and Control Room on Wednesday issued a statement on the flood situation.

It said 18 people died in Mymensingh division, three in Rangpur division and 21 in Sylhet division from May 17 to June 22 this year.

It also said that 13 people were killed and 12 others were injured in the lightning strike, four people were killed and one person was killed by snake bites and 23 people drowned in the flood waters. At the same time, six people died due to other reasons.
