Fire guts sections of University College Hospital, Ibadan

A fire broke out today in some parts of the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, sparking panic among patients and staff.

The fire reportedly started in an office on the third floor of the hospital’s South West 3 wing.

Sources at the scene confirmed that the Oyo State Fire Service swiftly responded to the emergency, arriving at the hospital to combat the blaze.

As firefighters worked to extinguish the fire, fear spread among patients and their relatives in nearby wards, with some rushing out in a panic.

While the fire has since been brought under control, the hospital management has yet to release an official statement on the cause of the fire or the extent of the damage.

At this time, no casualties have been reported, but the hospital authorities are expected to address the incident soon.
