Isaac Fayose, brother of former Ekiti State governor, Ayodele Peter Fayose, has stirred a controversy with remarks suggesting that his elder brother is willing to align with Federal Capital Territory Minister, Nyesom Wike, for financial gain.
In a statement made during an interview with NewsCentral TV, Isaac Fayose was quoted as saying, “Anywhere the money is, my brother is ready to carry Wike’s bag. As long as money is involved.”
He further criticised what he described as a lack of principle in political conduct, stating, “How can you stand for nothing, how can you kill your goodwill on earth, do you remember Yar’adua children, it’s the same way in the next twenty years, nobody will remember Tinubu’s children.”
The comments also extended to allegations against the judiciary, with Isaac Fayose questioning government priorities and integrity in public projects.
“Tell me another sector that Wike has built quarters for in this country, it’s only judiciary, just to get their judgment when they want it. 2027 election is already rigged,” he said.
The remarks come amid ongoing political realignments and heightened tensions ahead of the 2027 general elections, with key political figures across party lines engaging in strategic positioning.
On Sunday, Fayose declared Wike as the national leader of the PDP.
He said that the minister’s position in the party was earned through his contributions.
“Today, we are having our convention, ably led by the national leader of our party, Nyesom Wike, and we made him so because of his contributions. He leads, and we follow,” Fayose said.
