A former Governor of Oyo State, Omololu Olunloyo, is dead.
A statement from the Olunloyo family revealed that the late patriarch died just nine days to his 90th birthday.
He was born on the 14th of April, 1935.
The statement from the family reads; “Omololu Olunloyo passed on to eternal glory at 1:40 am on the 6th of April 2025. We thank God for a life well spent. May the Lord Jesus rest his soul.”
Sources who also confirmed the death said he died of old age even though he was briefly sick due to old age related ailments.
He was a great mathematician and politician who served as the governor of Oyo State from October 1st 1983 to December 31st 1983, when the military regime of General Muhammadu Buhari took power.
He later joined the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
