Ex-Kano Finance commissioner, Prof Kabiru Dandago, is dead

‎Dandago died at Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital Wednesday evening.

‎Lamara Garba, Bayero University, Kano Director of Information, confirmed the passing of the professor of Accounting and Taxation at the university’s faculty of Social and Management Sciences.

‎“It is on a sad note that I announce the death of Professor Dandago. Professor Dandago recently contributed to an appeal fund to support the families of our deceased colleagues.

‎May Almighty Allah grant him eternal rest in Jannatul Firdaus. Amin,” Garba wrote.


‎The deceased was invited to a Ramadan lecture last weekend by the International Institute of Islamic Thought (IIIT) to be among the panel of discussants.


‎Dandago served as finance commissioner between June 2015 and October 2018 under then Governor Abdullahi Ganduje.


‎He was at one time Dean of the Faculty of Social and Management Sciences, BUK which he joined in September 1990.


‎He authored and edited many books on Accounting, Taxation, Finance and Economics.
