Ex-Dep Gov Babale leads Tinubu’s campaign in Adamawa as Binani resigns

The office of the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Council Committee (PCC) has appointed a former deputy governor of Adamawa State, Hon Martins Babale as the State interim campaign coordinator of the Ahmed Tinubu/Kashim Shettima Presidential Campaign Council.

This follows the resignation from the responsibility by Senator Aishatu Ahmed Dahiru (Binani).

Binani had announced her resignation on Thursday citing attacks on herself and some other dignitaries of the party by some party members opposed to the Campaign Council in the State.

According to reports, Babale’s appointment comes also on the heels of opposition to Binani’s leadership of the APC PCC by the State leadership of the party, which after a meeting earlier on Wednesday, accused Binani of singlehandedly sellecting members of the Council.

The party had vowed to meet today (Friday) and to draw up fresh membership of the Council.

The Director-General of the APC PCC and Governor of Plateau State, Simon Lalong conveyed Babale’s appointment letter to him, congratulating him on his new role.

Lalong said Babale merited the appointment through his roles as a pillar of the party.

“We are confident that your wealth of experience will impact greatly on our mission to drive an effective, message-driven campaign and eventual victory at the 2023 presidential election,” Lalong told Babale.
