EPL clubs won’t dominate Europe despite spending £1.9bn

Former Crystal Palace Chairman, Simon Jordan has noted that the Premier League’s summer spending outstripped their rival leagues around Europe by a considerable sum.

Jordan does not, however, believe the development will lead to English teams dominating European competitions such as the Champions League, Europa League, and the Conference League.

Premier League clubs spent £1.9billion, nearly as much as Serie A, LaLiga, Bundesliga, and Ligue 1 combined.

“We have been spending more money here for the past 20 years!” Jordan told talkSPORT.

“You had Man Utd, Chelsea and Forest recruiting as many players as possible.”

He insisted that this did not mean English clubs would dominate Europe.
