Enyimba chief, Ekwueme gives kudos to NPFL for revamping top-flight

Enyimba Sporting Director, Ifeanyi Ekwueme has commended the leadership of the Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, for the improvement witnessed in the top-flight this season.

Ekwueme pointed that the NPFL has become competitive with the recent innovations.

He also expressed optimism in his team’s ability to bridge the gap between them and league leaders Lobi Stars.

“The new leadership of the league has really improved officiating and injected discipline as well,” he told topsports.

“A better side can win anywhere as it stands. Enyimba lost at home to Remo Stars. Enyimba won three away matches defeating Bayelsa United, Heartland and Shooting Stars this season. These are good omens for Nigerian soccer.

“Match officials, clubs officials as well as fans who are found wanting are dealt with immediately. That is the way to go.”

The second stanza of the 2023-24 NPFL season will kick-off on February 3.
