El-Rufai’s Insecurity Claim Sparks Outrage, CNYCM Calls for Apology

The Coalition of Northern Youths Consultative Movement (CNYCM) has urged Nasir El-Rufai, former Governor of Kaduna State, to retract his statement accusing the Federal Government over national security challenges . The group described the allegations as “reckless, baseless, and irresponsible” and called for a public apology for any harm caused.

In a strongly worded statement signed by Comrade Yusuf Musa Audu, National Coordinator, and Bilal Galadima, National Secretary, the CNYCM expressed deep concern over Nasir El-Rufai’s recent statement accusing the Federal Government of aiding insecurity in the country. The statement, made available to newsmen in Kaduna on Tuesday, warned that El-Rufai’s allegations have the potential to inflame tensions, undermine national unity, and derail collective efforts to address the nation’s complex security challenges.

The CNYCM leaders emphasized the importance of responsible communication in promoting unity, understanding, and constructive dialogue. “As leaders, we must prioritize communication that fosters national cohesion and encourages collaborative problem-solving, rather than rhetoric that could exacerbate existing tensions,” the statement read.

The group urges politicians and leaders to exercise caution in their public statements, particularly on sensitive issues like national security. Adding that promoting unity and constructive dialogue, leaders can help build trust and facilitate collective action to address security challenges

In a notable display of leadership, the CNYCM commended Senator Shehu Umar Buba, Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, for his tireless efforts in mitigating insecurity through non-kinetic actions. Senator Buba’s strategic approach has been instrumental in promoting peace and stability in the region, earning him widespread recognition and respect.

The group applauded Senator Buba’s dedication to ensuring the safety and security of Nigerian citizens, citing his leadership and vision as a model for responsible leadership. The CNYCM remains committed to promoting national unity, peace, and development, and calls on all leaders to prioritize the well-being of the nation.

The CNYCM’s stance underscores the importance of collective action in addressing the nation’s security challenges and promoting a brighter future for all Nigerians.
