El-Rufai replies Reno Omokri, calls him a ‘political mercenary’

Nasir Ahmad El-Rufai, the former Governor of Kaduna State, has launched an attack on Reno Omokri, a former media aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan.

In a post on X (formerly Twitter), El-Rufai criticized Omokri, referring to him as part of an “interesting lifecycle,” and labelling him a “political mercenary” who offers his services to the highest bidder.

El-Rufai’s comments come as part of a wider back-and-forth between the two, with the former governor berating Omokri’s political affiliations.

Omokri, who served as one of the spokespersons of opposition leader and Peoples Democratic Party presidential candidate in the 2023 elections, Atiku Abubakar, made a u-turn after the polls and started supporting President Bola Tinubu.

El-Rufai also shared photos of Omokri referring to PresidentTinubu as a drug baron during a protest in London.

“The interesting lifecycle of Wendell Simlin, also sometimes retained as a political mercenary by any person or government that can pay,” the former governor wrote.
