Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board, SUBEB, in conjunction with the Universal Basic Education Commission, UBEC, has organized a One-Day Training Programme for its Technical Officers in digital project monitoring in line with global best practices.
Speaking at the flag-off ceremony of the training programme in Ado Ekiti, the SUBEB Executive Chairman, Prof. Femi Akinwumi, stressed the importance of the training, stating that it was imperative for technical officers to go digital in the discharge of their duties.
The SUBEB boss reiterated the commitment of the State Government to
expose the officers to modern methods of carrying out monitoring
activities through digitalization, noting that the effectiveness of E-Monitoring cannot be overemphasized especially now that the world has become a global village .
He appreciated UBEC for its continued support and for being a partner in progress in Ekiti State.
Akinwumi also used the opportunity to appreciate the Executive Secretary of UBEC, Dr. Hammid Bobboyi, who was represented by the UBEC State Coordinator, Mr Tokunbo Olajubu, for his unrelenting effort towards improving the activities of the physical planning department in Ekiti SUBEB.
He charged the participants to avail themselves the opportunity offered by the training exercise and ensure they make judicious use of the digital equipments provided by UBEC.
Earlier in his welcome address, the Permananet Secretary, Ekiti SUBEB,
Mr Afolabi Adebiyi, described training as a lifelong activity in which one continues to pursue more knowledge and skills for the rest of one’s life.
Adebiyi noted that the digital experience facilitated by the National Space Research and Development Agency, NASRDA, would go a long way in improving the efficiency of the participants in the discharge of their duties.
He appreciated the facilitators from NASRDA led by Mrs Belinda Odia
for introducing the participants to the modern method of instrument
administration which would aid them in their project monitoring exercise.
