Ekiti State University holds convocation, 5,963 students to graduate

A total of 5,963 students will be graduating from the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, EKSU.

The students are expected to participate in the Convocation ceremony of the University for the 2021/2022 session, scheduled to hold Monday, 17th of April, 2023.

Addressing a press conference on Monday at the Institution’s Main Senate Chamber, the Vice Chancellor of the Ekiti State University, Ado Ekiti, Professor Edward Olanipekun said out of the 5,963 graduating students, 79 will be bagging first class honours, 1,847 in the second class upper division, 3,343 in the second class lower division, 332 in the third class and 1 with a pass.

He said there are 58 PhD candidates, 86 Masters and 63 Post Graduate Diploma holders.

While reeling out the activities for the 27th Convocation Ceremony, Olanipekun said there would be a Convocation Lecture with the title “The University System In Nigeria And The Sustainability Question”, to be delivered by the former Vice Chancellor of the Osun State University, Osogbo in Osun State

He urged those who requested for transcripts to come for them, saying the documents were already processed by the Management of the Institution.

“Most of the requests for transcripts are actually for people of the ‘japa’ syndrome”.
