Rivers United manager, Stanley Eguma has boasted that his team will successfully defend their Nigeria Premier League title.
The Pride of Rivers won the 2021-22 NPL title, the first time since their inception.
The Port Harcourt club are looking to win a back-to-back title at the ongoing NPL Super Six playoffs.
Eguma said the players need to continue to show positive character to maintain their push for the title.
“Our start has been impressive and we are here to defend our title,” he said in Lagos.
“The players just need to continue to show positive character as we maintain our push for the title.
“We are going all out for the win against Lobi Stars today.”
Rivers United, who are currently joint leaders with Enyimba, will take on Lobi Stars on Wednesday (today) in their matchday three encounter.
