EFCC Declares Socialite Aisha Achimugu wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared popular socialite, Aisha Achimugu wanted, over “alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering“.

The commission’s spokesman, Dele Oyewale, disclosed this in a circular released via the EFCC’s X handle on Friday.

He said the business woman is wanted by the agency in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

EFCC’s latest action followed alleged refusal of Achimugu to honour its earlier summons on the grounds that she had travelled out of Nigeria.

According to the circular, “The public is hereby notified that Aisha Sulaiman Achimugu, whose photograph appears above is wanted by EFCC in an alleged case of criminal conspiracy and money laundering.

“Achimugu, 51, is an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area of Kogi State and her last known address is 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja.

“Anybody with useful information as to her whereabouts should please contact the commission” at any of its offices nationwide including its social media handles and phone numbers.

Achimugu has been at the center of alleged money laundering and high-profile investment scam involving former Vice President, Atiku Abubakar and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

The former Vice President had denied involvement and described it as a smear campaign by opponents.

Achimugu was summoned to appear at its Port Harcourt office on March 5 over alleged money laundering and a high-profile investment scam.

The letter, dated March 4 and signed by the EFCC’s acting zonal director in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Adebayo Adeniyi, was sent to Achimugu’s residential address in Abuja.

“This commission is currently investigating a case in which the need to obtain certain clarification from you becomes imperative.

“In view of the above, you are kindly requested to attend an interview with the undersigned through the Head of Investigation on Wednesday, 5th March 2025, by 10:00 hours prompt,” the letter reads.

In a statement on Friday, Head, Media and Publicity of the EFCC, Dele Oyewole, called on anybody with useful information of her whereabouts to respond to any of its offices across the country.

Daily Trust reports that Aisha Achimugu is the managing director and chief executive officer of Felak Concept Group, a company specialising in civil, structural, and transportation engineering.

Over the years, the group has expanded its services to include consultancy and transaction advisory services, maritime operations, and environmental waste management, serving both private and public sector clients.

The mother of three made headlines last year when she hosted a lavish 50th birthday celebration in Grenada.

The event was attended by Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other dignitaries fueling speculation about a close relationship between her and the governor.
