The Council Chairman of Afikpo South Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, Prince Ekuma Nkama Chima has tasked the governor-elect, Mr. Francis Nwifuru to focus on industrialization and human empowerment, as he takes over governance in May.
Chima gave the charge to the governor-elect during a chat with newsmen in the state capital Abakaliki.
He called on the incoming administration in the state to do less on infrastructure but improve greatly on human empowerment and education.
Chima emphasized that, what Ebonyians need mostly at this stage, is human empowerment to enable them overcome poverty and suffering.
“The governor-elect, Mr. Francis Nwifuru has demonstrated capacity and I believe that he is good to deliver the dividend of democracy to the people of Ebonyi state.
“You know very well that the outgoing administration has done creditably well on infrastructural development, all he (Nwifuru) needs to do as he comes in, is to focus more on the area of industrialization.
“I believe that that’s the only way to bring about human empowerment. That’s what the people of the state need now.
He noted further: “Another area to improve on, is education because that’s the bedrock of all developments,” he stressed.
