THE LETTER IN FULL

The leadership and members of Ebira Renaissance Group (ERG), body of patriots devoted to the cause of development and progress via advocacy for justice, fairness and good governance, write to congratulate and rejoice with you, and, indeed, the entire Anebira on your resounding victory at the 11th November, 2023 Kogi State Gubernatorial election. We say hearty congratulations, Your Excellency!

This victory, an unprecedented revolution accomplished by the grace of God Almighty through His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya A. Bellos dogged determination, by our reckoning, and beyond partisan politics, represents a quantum leap in the collective aspiration of a people who have desired their rightful place in the affairs of a state which creation and progress they have so laboured for.

From the build-up to, and the election going forward, Anebira have been unmistaken in their resolve for your victory at the poll. Within and outside Ebiraland, the demonstrable emotion and patriotism by our people epitomizes the true Ebira of Anebira. May your government work assiduously to sustain this show of oneness. It is apt to say that Anebira holds a deep appreciation for the African proverb that says; “If you want to go fast, go alone, but if you want to go far, go together.”

It is not uncomplimentary to say that we don’t envy you because of the enormous burden upon your shoulders. You cannot reward everyone who worked for you, you cannot thank everyone who voted for you. In fact, you might not be able to satisfactorily meet the expectations of those who worked and voted for you.

But one thing is sure, if you are able to deliver on good governance you would have rewarded and thanked all who worked and voted for you. We, therefore, implore you to embrace collaboration, engaging with the dissenting and build consensus to galvanize the people for an inclusive governance. STRONGER TOGETHER OUR BELOVED BROTHER.

We are eager to collaborate with your administration in areas of mutual concern and interest. We believe that by working together, we can achieve meaningful and sustainable outcomes that shall benefit not only our people but the entire state. We do believe that you have learnt from His Excellency, your mentor, so do leverage on his strength.

Once again, congratulations on your election. May your tenure be marked by visionary leadership, inclusive governance, and prosperity for all Kogites. Aameen!

Yours sincerely,
Coordinator, Pastor Joseph Suleiman (Manjoe),
