Dozens of terrorists dead as intense infighting between ISWAP and Boko Haram escalates

Intelligence sources have revealed that a fierce clash between rival terrorist factions, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) and Bakoura-led Boko Haram fighters, has resulted in significant casualties on both sides.

The confrontation occurred east of Mallam Fatori, near the border with Niger Republic.

The fighting took place towards the eastern part of Boso, and dozens of terrorists were killed, with many more sustaining severe injuries.

The clash is attributed to a bitter rivalry over influence and control in the region.

Zagozola reveals that the infighting has further weakened both groups’ operational strength by exposing their hideouts and reducing their numbers.

Both ISWAP and Boko Haram have been involved in intense battles against each other in recent times following leadership changes and ideological differences.
