Disregard sponsored protest against Tunji-Ojo’s ministerial nomination – NANS tells Senate

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has appealed to the Senate to disregard what it described as a sponsored protest against the nomination of Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo for a ministerial position by President Bola Tinubu.

NANS explained that its attention has been drawn to a plan by some political jobbers to stage a sponsored protest against the nomination of Tunji-Ojo, a nominee from Ondo State.

NANS National Vice President (External Affairs), Babatunde Afeez Akinteye, who made this declaration via a statement made available to newsmen on Monday, insisted that any such protest is the handwork of the enemies of the nominee.

Akinteye, in a statement, implored the leadership of the Senate to disregard and discountenance any form of sponsored protest aimed at bringing the nomination of Tunji-Ojo into disrepute.

Akinteye said: “I want to categorically say that according to our findings, these disillusioned naysayers are nothing but enemies of progress and enemies of the people of Ondo State, who are political opportunists whose only source of livelihood revolves around lies, people’s discomfort, and deprivation of the masses.

“Due to the undeniable love of the people of his constituency for his person and disposition, he was massively voted for and reelected on the same platform of the All Peoples Congress (APC) to represent them.

“Considering the wide acceptability of the person and personality of Hon. Bunmi Ojo by the good people of Ondo State, they are beginning to see beyond the ministerial nomination but looking beyond and are scared of the political hurricane that would befall them as the losers and looters that they are.

“Before long, if these political riffraff refuse to desist from their ever-failing intentions of denting the image of Hon. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, they shall be shamefully exposed and disgraced.”
