Diplomats from 32 Countries Attend the Funeral Prayer of Former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia

Diplomatic representatives from 32 countries attended the funeral prayer of Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP Chairperson, Begum Khaleda Zia. The information was confirmed by the BNP Media Cell.

According to the BNP Media Cell, ambassadors, high commissioners, and representatives of various diplomatic missions participated in the janaza held at Manik Mia Avenue in the capital. They paid their final respects to Begum Khaleda Zia and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

The funeral prayer was held shortly after 3:00 pm on Wednesday at the South Plaza of the National Parliament. It was led by the khatib of the Baitul Mukarram National Mosque. Ahead of the prayer, not only Manik Mia Avenue but several surrounding kilometers were filled with people who had gathered to attend the janaza. Due to a lack of space, many were also seen participating from nearby metro rail stations and from the rooftops of surrounding buildings.
