He stated that the Democracy Newsline Newspaper Award (DNNA) is an annual event wherein individuals and organizations that have distinguished themselves in their chosen careers and sectors of operations are being recognized with Awards of Excellence to encourage them to do more for the nation and humanity.

He said the Award of Honour Program is an event of an arm of Michabifem Ventures Limited, Publishers of Democracy Newsline Newspaper and Weblog bridging the gap between the government and its citizens as guaranteed by the international laws and 1999 Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria as amended being a member of the fourth estate of the realm.

He further stated that Barrister Babatunde Irukera showed capacity in leadership when he held sway as the Executive Vice chairman/CEO of the agency, displaying a high level of transparency which is what led the FCCPC to secure landmark judgments in favor of the country.
