Customs attackers didn’t come with gun trucks, motocycles

The headquarters of Sector 2 Joint Task Force, North-East Operation Hadin Kai in Yobe State, has refuted claims in some reports that assailants that attacked the Customs House in Geidam came in gun trucks and motorcycles.

It said the assailants came on foot with weapons concealed in their clothes and went straight to the Customs House.

The Sector’s spokesman, Captain Shehu Musa, made the clarification on Monday in response to some trending reports suggesting otherwise.

“I want to use this medium to inform you that the assailants came on foot with weapons concealed in their clothes and went straight to the customs house, not on gun trucks and motorcycles”, the spokesman said.

Recall that, on Saturday at about 10 p.m., gunmen suspected to be members of the dreaded Boko Haram group stormed the Customs facility along Maine Soroa road in Geidam town and opened fire, killing one personnel.
