CUSTECH Council Members Pays Courtesy Visit On Ohinoyi Of Egbira Land

Council Members of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTECH), Osara led by the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Prof. Olu Obafemi, NNOM has paid a courtesy visit on the Ohinoyi of Egbira land HRM Alhaji Dr. Muhammed Tijani Anaje in his palace at Okene.

According to Balogun Omeiza David, Head, Public Relations Unit, of the university, the courtesy visit started with the singing of the national anthem after which prayers were made by Prof. Abdulkarim Salawu Ahmed and Pst. Shaibu Victor Ekele (JP).

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman, Prof. Olu Obafemi thanked HRM Alh. Dr. Muhammed Tijani Anaje for granting audience to the visiting Council Members into his royal palace.

He thanked His Excellency, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, the Executive Governor of Kogi State, a chief servant whom he described as a leader who is working hard to build and improve upon where his predecessor handed over the educational sector to him.

The Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council said, “As the cultural custodian of the domain where CUSTECH is, we are always sure of the fervent prayers and blessings of Ohinoyi of Ebira land.”

Furthermore, Prof. Olu Obafemi, NNOM appealed to the Ohinoyi of Egbira land to make use of all his connections to help CUSTECH become more virile and vital across the globe.

In his words, “We are stressing the fact that education is crucial to any society and that is why we are glad that we have CUSTECH as an ivory tower readily available to help us address issues concerning education.”

Talking about the issue relating to security, the Council Chairman said that, “No environment can be secured if the traditional leadership is not in support and also part and parcel of the efforts the government is putting in place to get the citizens and the property they have secured.” He therefore appealed to the Ohinoyi of Egbira land to join forces with security agents to have their eagle eyes fixed on CUSTECH.

The Pro-Chancellor also added that, “I implore HRM Alh. Dr. Muhammed Tijani Anaje to see that the Management and Staff of CUSTECH are poised to come up with excellence so as to make the tertiary institution one of the best in the world.” Also, the erudite academician added that, “We pledge our loyalty and symbiotic relationship between CUSTECH and the Palace. We as Council Members are happy with what we met the Management of CUSTECH doing before we came on board as Council Members. The onus now lies on us to do better for the progress and upliftment of CUSTECH.” Prof. Olu Obafemi finally prayed that God Almighty will allow CUSTECH to excel before the Ohinoyi of Egbira land, grant him longevity, sound health and for Egbira land to experience blessings and abundance in his time as king.

The Vice-Chancellor of CUSTECH, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahaman Asipita Salawu thanked HRM Alh. Dr. Muhammed Tijani Anaje, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land for the warm reception accorded to the visiting Council Members. In his words, he described the revered Ohinoyi as, “A royal father who is daily praying for the success of CUSTECH without ceasing. I remember not allowing him to sleep when we were in distress some months back and his contribution played a great role to what has led to the stability and victory we are having today at CUSTECH.”

Responding to the visiting Council Members of CUSTECH led by Prof. Olu Obafemi, NNOM, the Ohinoyi of Ebira land HRM Alh. Dr. Muhammed Tijani Anaje appreciated the collaboration of other traditional rulers in his domain which he said has led to every appearances of peace, tranquility and security architecture that is safeguarding Egbira land presently. The Ohinoyi also thanked security operatives for the smooth working relationship he had with them, a symbiotic affair he said originated from his former job as a security personnel. He commended the Vice Chancellor, Engr. Prof. Abdulrahaman Asipita Salawu for staying awake all night and showing the traits expected from a good and focused leader all through the days that CUSTECH was put to test before God Almighty finally brought us succour.

The Ohinoyi counseled the visiting Council Members saying, “I am glad to have you people as Council Members of CUSTECH and I believe you all are intellectuals that will drive forward the purpose of which CUSTECH was established to serve. I will want you all to know that once you are appointed and have also taken the oath of office, you are to work hard to justify the reason why you were picked fill the position.

“Let it be well known to us all that God Almighty will bring us to judgement which will revolve around the Supreme Being to x-ray the works committed into our hands to affect humanity positively.”

The paramount ruler of Egbira land thereafter he gave his royal blessings on the visiting Council Members, CUSTECH, Egbira land and Kogi State at large.
