Cucurella in shock move to Chelsea after agreeing on personal terms

Brighton’s Marc Cucurella is set for a shock move to Chelsea this summer.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea has agreed on personal terms with Cucurella as the Blues close in on a deal for the defender.

Chelsea’s Premier League rivals Manchester City have had multiple bids for Cucurella rejected by Brighton and Pep Guardiola’s side is refusing to meet Brighton’s £50 million asking price for the player.

The Blues have now made a significant breakthrough as they have agreed on personal terms with Curerella to move to Stamford Bridge.

Cucurella is now ready to join Thomas Tuchel’s side once the club reach an agreement over a fee with Brighton.

The 24-year-old had been intent on joining Manchester City this summer and submitted a transfer request last week in order to force through a move.

But Chelsea is now in the pole position to sign the Spain star as the west London club seeks to bolster their defence ahead of the new season.
