C’River govt urges banks to support health sector

The Cross River State Government has appealed to financial institutions, especially banks, to support health facilities with equipment.

The government said such intervention will enable them achieve the Universal Health Coverage mandate.

The appeal was made by the new Commissioner for Health in the state, Dr. Henry Egbe Ayuk, when he received management team from Globus Bank in his office.

Ayuk said the government is committed to efficient, accessible, quality and affordable healthcare system but need collaborative efforts to achieve greater feats.

He emphasised that only a healthy citizenry can engage in meaningful financial transactions, hence the need to beam their focus on collaborative healthcare system.
