Corruption: Nigerian refineries should be sold – Joe Igbokwe

Worried over the alleged corruption in the oil sector, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Joe Igbokwe, said Nigerian refineries should be sold to business magnates in the country.

The assertion followed the report that the Port Harcourt refinery kicked off operations on Tuesday.

Igbokwe, who was elated by the development, said when all the four local refineries are fixed, they should be sold out to ensure efficiency.

In a post on his official Facebook page, the APC chieftain declared that the Nigerian government lacked the capacity to manage the oil plants due to corruption.

He wrote: “When the four Refineries finally hit the ground running I am suggesting too that they should be sold to reputable, well known and capacity-driven business magnates in Nigeria.

“The government cannot manage them anymore due to corruption.”
