Conte reacts to Lloris’ own goal as Tottenham lose 2-0 to Arsenal

Tottenham Hotspur manager, Antonio Conte has refused to blame Hugo Lloris for their 2-0 defeat to Arsenal on Sunday.

Lloris parried Bukayo Saka’s cross into his own net to give the Gunners the lead.

The French goalkeeper then failed to keep out Martin Odegaard’s long-range effort which sealed the points.

Conte, speaking after the game, insisted that Lloris remains one of the best stoppers in the world.

“I consider Hugo one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

“It can happen. Sometimes you can make a mistake,” Conte said.

Lloris has also committed high-profile errors against Newcastle, Aston Villa and Arsenal earlier in the season, which all led to Spurs going behind and then losing those matches.
