Kogi State Honourable Commissioner for Urban Development and Housing, Hon. Abanika Taiye on Friday resumed office , with a charge to staffers of the ministry on the need to be more productive.
While addressing the top management staff and other members of the ministry, the Honourable Commissioner asserts that he has been assigned the ministry’s portfolio based on the believe that he is capable to contribute meaningfully to the new government of Alhaji Usman Ododo.
According to the Honourable Commissioner, “The governor Ahmed Usman Ododo’s new government in Kogi state is anchored on an unprecedented master plan to consolidate on the monumental achievements of his predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello
He added that working in synergy with the staff he will leave no stone unturned to help the government succeed “so call on every staff of this all important ministry to stand on diligence, hardwork, accountability, prudence, seriousness and productivity to help achieve the great task ahead of us.
“The incredible task ahead of us in this ministry is to help transform and further develop our Urban areas and to create more Housing for our people and you will agree with me that the growth and development of any state depends, largely, on these areas so we must wake up to our task as a ministry to achieve better in the years ahead insha Allah.
“You will also agree with me that governor Usman Ododo has hit the ground running to deliver on his electioneering promises and that is why he decided to form his cabinet on the first day of his inauguration as the Executive governor of Kogi State so we will have no reason as a ministry not to perform, you must all join hands with me to key into achieving the incredible programs and policies of the new government to succeed. The Honourable Commissioner added.
The Commissioner, an indigene of Ajaokuta LGA, is an Engineer, an astute administrator, a seasoned professional teacher with a National Award of excellence for professionalism, will use his wealth of experience in both public and private sectors to deliver the good in his new assignment as the Kogi state Commissioner for Urban Development and Housing.
