Socialite and businessman, Cubana Chief Priest, has lost the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary election for the House of Representatives seat for Orsu/Orlu/Oru East Federal Constituency of Imo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The nightlife promoter, who serves as the Imo State Coordinator of the City Boys Movement, was seeking to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives.
Earlier, after purchasing the APC nomination and expression of interest forms to contest for the federal constituency seat, he described his ambition as part of efforts to contribute to youth empowerment and grassroots development in the region.
His political move, however, sparked mixed reactions among constituents and political stakeholders, with some supporters hailing his popularity and philanthropic activities, while critics questioned his political experience and preparedness for legislative responsibilities.
The APC primary election, which was conducted as part of the party’s preparations for the 2027 polls, eventually saw Cubana Chief Priest fail to secure the party’s ticket for the constituency.
Details of the final vote count and the candidate who emerged victorious were still being awaited at the time of filing this report.
