Middlesbrough striker Chuba Akpom has broken his silence after winning the Championship Player of the Season.
The 27-year-old has been in breathtaking form this season, netting a total of 29 goals in all competitions for the Championship side.
He has now helped Michael Carrick’s side to take them within touching distance of the Premier League.
The former Arsenal ace had been somewhat in the wilderness, spending some seasons at Greek side PAOK and Belgian outfit Sint-Truiden.
He said: “Championship player of the season.
“Feeling extremely humbled and blessed to receive this award.
“It’s been a journey full of ups and downs but I’ve learnt so much on the way.”
