Chelsea’s Pulisic cannot be trusted, he’s overhyped – Dunseth warns US

Former USMNT and MLS player, Brian Dunseth, has warned that the US cannot trust captain, Christian Pulisic ahead of the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

The USMNT stumbled in its final preparations for November’s World Cup after failing to find the target in either of its international friendlies this month.

They drew 0-0 against Saudi Arabia and lost 2-0 against Japan.

However, Pulisic has been hailed as ‘Captain America’ for the team, and fans will be hoping he can rally the US in Qatar, but Dunseth claimed the Chelsea winger has been overhyped.

“You can’t trust Pulisic,” Dunseth said on his weekly podcast.

“As much as you want to believe in Pulisic, as much as he has been hyped to be the everything that everybody thinks he can be or wants him to be, the reality is he is not.

“He is a really good player, but he’s a complimentary piece. He is not a focal point, and that’s what people have to understand.”

Pulisic has failed to score a goal since a hat-trick against Panama in a 5-1 CONCACAF World Cup qualification game in March
