Grammy award-winning singer, Damini Ogulu, popularly known as Burna Boy, has revealed that his favourite birthday experience was when he was taken as a child to a kids’ park to watch legendary Nigerian musician, Daddy Showkey’s performance.
He disclosed this in a recent chat with Ebro of Apple Music.
The Port Harcourt-born singer said his sixth studio album ‘Love, Damini’ which he released around his birthday last year, was a recreation of that happy childhood birthday experience.
He said, “You got the ‘Love, Damini’ album, you see what’s in the record: I’m happy it is my birthday. I’m bringing you into that [happiness].
“My favourite birthday ever that I can remember in life, was when I got taken to a kids’ park as a child and I got to watch Daddy Showkey perform for the first time. So, I kind of wanted to recreate that [in my album].”
