Buhari appoints Mohammed Degereji as Provost, FCE Yola 

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Dr. Mohammed Usman Degereji as the Provost, Federal College of Education (FCE), Yola.

The College officially announced the appointment Monday in a press statement signed by its Principal Information Officer, Bashiru Abdullahi.

The statement disclosed that the appointment of Dr. Degereji was for an initial period of four years beginning from June 20, 2022.

According to the statement, Degereji had diligently served the institution in key strategic leadership positions which included being Acting Deputy Provost, Dean of School of Science Education, Director, and Head of Department.

Degereji, a Chief Lecturer in the Department of Physics of the FCE Yola, displayed his versatility as a leader by successfully serving as the pioneer Director of the College Centre of Excellence as well as the Science Research Centre of the institution.

“Until his appointment, Degereji served as the Coordinator of the World Bank/Adamawa State assisted programme for the provision of education for the Out of School Children under the auspices of Better Education Service Delivery for All,” the statement added.

The new FCE Yola provost had his Bachelor of Science (Physics) from the University of Maiduguri and a Master’s degree in Engineering in Electrical Power System from Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University, Bauchi.

He holds a doctorate degree from the University of Leeds in the United Kingdom with specialization in Energy Physics.
