Buhari appoints Abdullahi Bala as Nigeria Police Trust Fund Secretary

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Abdullahi Bala as the new Executive Secretary (ES) for the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF).

Abdullahi Bala takes over from Ahmed Aliyu, who resigned his appointment to run for gubernatorial primary in his state.

Born on 18th August, 1967 in Sokoto North Local Government Area, the new ES holds a Masters Degree in Political Science from Usmanu Danfodiyo University Sokoto.

Bala’s career began in December 1992, when he became Personal Officer II, Admin and Political Affairs Department, Cabinet Office, Sokoto.

In May, 2009, he was appointed as Permanent Secretary in Sokoto State Civil Service.

He served as Secretary, State Government Committee on Audit Inspection Report; Secretary, State Government Policy Council of Emergency on Education; Chairman Health Financing Technical Group.

Bala also worked as Permanent Secretary in Ministries, Departments and Agencies, including Ministries of Finance, Health and Education.
