Brighton takes decision on selling Caicedo as Arsenal submit fresh £70m offer

Brighton have rejected Arsenal’s fresh £70m bid for midfielder, Moises Caicedo.

The club insists the 21-year-old is not for sale this January.

With the winter transfer window set to close on Tuesday by 11pm, the Seagulls are adamant about keeping Caicedo.

If Brighton accepted Arsenal’s latest offer for Caicedo, it would have been a club-record transfer, surpassing the £60m sale of Marc Cucurella to Chelsea in the summer.

The Gunners also saw their initial £60m offer for the Ecuador international rejected.

This led to the player going public on social media, to plead with Brighton to allow him leave the Amex.

Caicedo has been ordered to stay away from training until after Tuesday’s transfer deadline following his Instagram post.
