Botswana have gone top of Group C at the ongoing 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations in Morocco.
This follows their 4-2 victory over fellow debutants Burundi on Monday.
Keitumetse Dithebe gave Botswana the lead with two minutes left before the break.
Almost immediately after the restart, it was 2-0 thanks to Lesego Radiakanyo.
Sandrine Niyonkuru pulled one back in the 52nd minute, but Refilwe Tholakele restored the two-goal advantage.
Tholakele got her brace to make it 4-1 before Niyonkuru grabbed her second to end the game 4-2.
South Africa are in second place after they defeated Nigeria’s Super Falcons 2-1.
Both teams will be back in action on Thursday with Botswana facing Nigeria, while South Africa will battle Burundi.
