Blackout Across Nigeria As National Grid Collapses

The National Grid on Wednesday, February 12, collapsed, Nigerian National Grid platform has said.

The grid was said to have collapsed for the second time in the year at about 12 noon on Wednesday.

Several areas across the country including the Federal Capital Territory witnessed the sharp blackout which occurred following the grid collapse.

However, the government said that efforts are being taken to ensure an immediate restoration of the grid.

The statement by the Nigerian National Grid on X said, “There was a “GRID DISTURBANCE” before noon today.

“Parts of the country experienced outage,” it said.

It also stated that further details on the condition of the nation’s power grid would be made public shortly.
