A former Special Adviser to Governor Yahaya Bello on Water Resources, Hon Shehu Tijjani Bin-Ebaiya has emerged as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Lokoja 1 State Constituency to contest in the 2023 general elections.
Bin-Ebaiya emerged during the primary election held at the Amusement Park, Lokoja, on Thursday.
The Returning officer appointed by the Party, Hon. Alhassan Salihu said two aspirants contested. They included Hon. Tijjani Shehu Bin-Ebaiya and Inusa Ibrahim Amale.
He added that Hon. Amale withdrew from the contest before the exercise commenced after reaching a consensus.
According to Salihu, 25 delegates participated in the primaries, stressing that due process was followed.
Salihu, who announced the result, said that Bin-Ebaiya scored 25 votes to emerge the winner.
He added that the election was free, fair, and peaceful and that it was conducted in accordance with the party’s constitution.
For the APC State House of Assembly primary in Kogi West, Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf has been declared winner of the Lokoja 11Sstate Constituency.
Returning officer of the electoral committee, Hon. Abdulrashid Muhammed declared Umar Aliyu Yusuf winner.
He announced that 25 delegates were accredited, with two contestants vying for the seat of Lokoja II State Constituency.
He said Yusuf polled 25 votes to defeat Haruna Kabir Alfa who scored 0 votes.
“Having secured a total of 25 votes, I, therefore, declare Hon. Umar Aliyu Yusuf the winner of Lokoja II State Constituency primary election,” Muhammed said.
In Kogi East, Hon. Ranyi Daniya picked the APC ticket for Bassa State Constituency.
Ranyi defeated Hon Samuel Zakari Alumka 40 to 7 votes to retain the ticket.
