Beware of scammers – University of Ibadan warns public

The management of the University of Ibadan has warned members of the public not to allow themselves to be swindled or scammed.

The institution made this declaration on Thursday.

In a statement signed by Adejoke Akinpelu, Principal Assistant Registrar and Public Relations Officer, the institution said that no property has been put on sale.

She added that the management of the university expressed dismay at an online sale advertisement announcing the sale of the property, assets, and land of the institution.

According to her: “The Management of the University of Ibadan has expressed dismay at an online sale advert announcing the sale of the property, assets, and land of the University of Ibadan. The Management and the Governing Council of the University have not caused any such advert to be put out.

“Members of the public, especially the international community, are advised not to allow themselves to be swindled. The University of Ibadan, its assets, and landed property are not up for sale. Meanwhile, the Department of State Services has been notified and requested to bring the supposed agents to book.”
