Benfica target Sadiq as replacement for Nunez

Portuguese giants Benfica have turned to Nigerian forward Umar Sadiq after selling Darwin Nunez to Liverpool.

Uruguayan striker, Nunez completed his €75m transfer to Liverpool on Tuesday.

According to Spanish publication, Larazon, the Primiera Liga side have set their sights on Sadiq as the perfect replacement for Nunez

Incidentally, Benfica signed Nunez from Almeria two years ago and are ready to raid the LaLiga club for their prized asset again.

Sadiq scored 18 goals and provided 12 assists to help the Rojiblancos secure promotion to LaLiga last season.

LaLiga clubs, Valencia and Sevilla are also interested in the striker.

The 25-year-old recently expressed his desire to play in the Spanish top flight, but Almeria are open to letting him leave for a reasonable fee.
