Chelsea defender Ben Chilwell has compared teammate Nicolas Jackson to Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy.
Jackson joined Chelsea from Villarreal this summer transfer window and showed glimpses of real potential during Chelsea’s pre-season tour of America.
The Senegal international scored two goals and registered three assists.
“Personally, he is a very different kind of centre forward to a lot of centre forwards you see nowadays, in a positive way,” Chilwell told talkSPORT about Jackson.
“It is a nice surprise in a way to see a No. 9 that loves running in behind; it kind of takes me back to when I was at Leicester with Vards [Jamie Vardy].
“So, hopefully, we can all give him the service that he needs and the service that I am sure he will get when he’s got pace like that and wants to get in behind defences.”
Jackson will hope to lead Chelsea to victory when they take on Liverpool in the 2023–24 Premier League opener this weekend.
