Belgian investors arrive Nigeria for medical, trade missions

Thirteen Belgian doctors and Belgian investors have visited Nigeria for medical and trade missions.

Nigeria’s Ambassador to Belgium, Obinna Chiedu Onowu, said this in a statement made available to newsmen in Abuja.

Also, Onowu commended members of the team for their sacrifice, saying it was a noble initiative that would further strengthen people to people contact between the two countries.

In his words, “We want to express our appreciation to all the wonderful friends of Nigeria, particularly, two missions that are going to Nigeria this year.

“The medical mission and the trade mission. We are proud of these two missions, because they have shown interest in Nigeria.

“To the medical mission, I must applaud your effort. When I heard about it, I was inspired because I know the value of someone leaving his environment to go somewhere else for two weeks and stay with the local people.

“This is a big effort. We know that the people you are going to meet may not have the opportunity of getting the kind of attention that you are giving. Deep down in our hearts, we appreciate what you have done”.

The Ambassador said the goal of the trade mission was to bring Belgian investors in contact with their counterparts in Nigeria.

However, the event provided an opportunity for the business persons on the trade mission and those on the medical mission to interact.
