Aloy Ejimakor, lawyer to the detained leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, Nnamdi Kanu, has said that being Igbo is not a choice but a birthright.
Ejimakor said this in a statement posted on his verified X handle on Friday.
He charged every Igbo person to uphold the tenet of the Igbo heritage and not to deny their cultural affiliation.
The pro-Biafra leader’s lawyer also called on Igbo at home and abroad to resist any attempt to criminalize them because of their background.
“Being Igbo is not a choice. It’s a birthright and a badge of high honor. No Igbo should succumb to the abomination of denying his Igboness.
“Resist any attempt to criminalize you just because you’re Igbo. You were Igbo before you became a Nigerian without your consent,” he wrote
