Governor Bala Mohammed has urged the Nigeria Police Force to build on its successes in combating crime and insecurity in the state.
Speaking at a familiarization visit to the Government House in Bauchi by the newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of Zone 12, Bauchi, Dasuki Galadanci, the Governor acknowledged the sacrifices of security personnel.
He emphasized the need for ongoing efforts to maintain peace.
He informed the AIG that areas mostly affected by the activities of suspected bandits and kidnappers are all the local government areas of neighbouring states from the Northwestern part of the country.
To facilitate effective security operations across the state, he mentioned that a Ministry of Internal Security has been created to provide all the needed support in the area.
He highlighted that the state is enjoying relative peace due to the support of personnel from the Nigeria Police and other security agencies.
He, therefore, urged the people of the state to continue supporting them with useful information on the activities of criminals.
Earlier, the newly posted Assistant Inspector General of Police, Dasuki Galadanci, appreciated the state government for prioritizing the well-being of citizens.
The AIG, who oversees the Bauchi and Gombe States Commands of the Nigeria Police in Zone 12, assured that the Police would introduce new security strategies that would enhance the general operations of the police and other security personnel.
He also appealed to the people of Bauchi State to continue having confidence in the Nigeria Police by providing them with useful information on various happenings in their respective areas for continuous development.
