Bashir Ahmed, CPS give update on Katsina Gov, Radda after road accident

Bashir Ahmed, media aide to late ex-president Muhammadu Buhari, has said Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, who was involved in a road accident on Sunday, has been discharged.

Ahmed said the update was confirmed by the Katsina Local Government Area chairman familiar with the development.

This comes amid reports that Gov. Radda was involved in an accident on Sunday evening on Daura-Katsina Road.

Reacting, Ahmed wrote on X, “The Governor has been discharged from the hospital, as confirmed by Katsina LGA Chairman.”

Similarly, Ibrahim Kaula Mohammed, chief press secretary to the governor, said the accident was minor and the governor’s condition was stable.

“Katsina State Governor Malam Dikko Umaru Radda was involved in a minor road accident this evening along the Daura–Katsina Road while carrying out his official duties in service to the people of Katsina State.”

Radda went viral during the burial of Buhari on July 15th, 2025, as he could not fight back tears when the military was honouring the ex-president shortly before his remains were lowered.
