Barcelona vice-president, Rafa Yuste has said that the Catalan giants have no intention to sign Kylian Mbappe from Paris Saint-Germain this summer.
According to him, Xavi Hernandez’s team is already better than it was last season with the addition of three players, including former Manchester City captain, Ilkay Gundogan.
There are reports that Barcelona are among a number of top clubs queuing up to sign Mbappe.
Mbappe is expected to leave PSG this summer after the Parisians dropped him from their pre-season tour of Japan.
The Frenchman has been heavily linked with a move to Barcelona rivals Real Madrid.
Yuste maintained that Barca are happy with the current squad.
The rumours claimed that Barcelona are ready to offer players in exchange for the Frenchman and PSG are willing to listen to their offer.
However, in an interview with Mundo Deportivo, Yuste hinted that they are not interested in signing the France national team captain.
He said, “Mbappé to Barça? I am not here to fuel rumours.
“Anything I say as sporting vice-president would be making a rumour into something bigger.
“I want to tell everyone that we have a squad that with Gündogan, Romeu and Iñigo is already better than last year. These are rumours.”
