Bagudu cautions journalist against defamation of character

Governor Abubakar Atiku Bagudu of kebbi-state has warned working journalist at all levels to avoid label and defamation of character in their report age.

Governor Bagudu made the call when he declared open a one day training workshop for working journalist in the state, with the THEME the role of media before and after 2023 general election, the workshop took place at medical and health workers Secretariat Birnin-Kebbi on Tuesday.

Bagudu who was represented by the secretary to the state government Alhaji Babale Umar, further called on journalist to put hands together with other stake holders in ensuring a peaceful transition in 2023.

Earlier, the permanent Secretary ministry of information and culture, Alhaji Garba Hamisu Zuru, appealed to journalist to report actualities correctly and accordance with the laws of the land in order to avoid sensationalism and distortions.

In his remarks, the zonal vice president of the NUJ zone A, comrade Muhammad Tukur Umar, Thanked kebbi-state government for approving the workshop for the journalist in the state, remind them of their role in 2023 general election.
