Ayeni charges Akwa United players to keep pace high in second stanza

Akwa United head coach, Deyi Ayeni, has urged his players to maintain their high standard when action resumes in the Nigeria Premier Football League later this month.

The Promise Keepers, who are looking to win a second NPFL title, put up a good showing in the first half of the campaign.

Ayeni’s side currently occupy the third position on the Group A table.

The former Sunshine Stars gaffer posited in a chat with newsmen that it is important for his players to keep their feet on the ground to achieve their objective.

“We need to keep up with the pace at which we started the season to achieve the objective we set for ourselves,” Ayeni declared.

“We are looking forward to the start of the second stanza and hopefully.we will maintain the same momentum.”

Akwa United will take on Shooting Stars Football Club of Ibadan in their first match of the second stanza on March 26.
